Full Description

This tour combines Lovina's best-known experience, an early boat trip to see dolphins in their natural habitat, with snorkeling and a waterfall visit.

Boats head out before sunrise, since dolphins are most active and visible in the early morning light off Lovina's north coast. Because these are wild animals, sightings aren't guaranteed, though Lovina's waters are known for regular dolphin activity. Guests can hold onto a rail fitted to the boat to watch the dolphins swim alongside as the captain follows their movement.

From there, the boat moves to a nearby reef for snorkeling, with gear typically arranged through the operator. After the water-based portion, the tour continues inland to a waterfall for a break in the shade, with an optional stop at a coffee plantation on the way back for a tasting.

Our Review

Wild animals, so sightings are not guaranteed, and any operator promising otherwise is selling something they do not control. Lovina's waters do see regular dolphin activity, which is the honest version of the same sentence.

Boats leave before sunrise because that is when the dolphins are active, and the small outriggers fit a rail to hold while they swim alongside. The trip then moves to a reef for snorkelling and inland to a waterfall, with an optional coffee plantation tasting on the way back. Bring a towel, a change of clothes and sandals. We think ten dollars for that sequence is the best value on the north coast, as long as you go accepting the dolphins may not appear.
