What is Pererenan best for?
Pererenan is best for travellers who want Canggu’s beaches and cafés at a slower pace, with rice fields and a quieter beachfront nearby.
Enjoy the beach, amazing surfing, relaxation, and nature
Pererenan is what Canggu was a few years ago, and we say that knowing it will not stay true forever. It is the next village west along the same coast, separated from Echo Beach by the Yeh Poh river, with rice fields still surrounding most of it.
The beach is dark sand with a consistent break, and the road down to it has filled with cafés and villas. It has grown fast. But evenings are still quieter than central Canggu or Berawa, and that gap is the reason we would choose it. Tanah Lot is a short drive further west. If you want big beach clubs and a late night, you will be driving back towards Canggu for them.

Then look at activity packages, since the surf break and a yoga or spa session set the local rhythm. A car helps, as the rice-field lanes are spread out and Tanah Lot is a short drive away.
