good to know before you plan
April is the month to book Seminyak if you care about the evenings. From here the sunsets are reliable and the crowds have not caught up, and that gap does not last.
The thing I would push back on is doing Seminyak for a full week. It is a small area and the beach club, dinner, spa rhythm gets repetitive by day five. Either use the last two days for Uluwatu or the Nusa islands, or split the trip and spend half of it inland. Seminyak is excellent for four days and thin for seven.
Bali in April: A 7-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary
April is when Seminyak's evenings become dependable. The cloud that swallowed the horizon through the wet season has cleared, the sunsets are consistent, and the whole west-facing strip finally does what it was built to do. The difference from March is small on paper and considerable in practice: you can now book a sunset dinner on a specific night and expect to get one.
The crowds are the part that has not arrived. Beach clubs have space, the restaurants that vanish behind three-week waiting lists in July will still take you, and the Seminyak to Canggu road has not yet become the ordeal it turns into by June. April is the short overlap between good weather and manageable numbers.
Reliable sunsets, and the daybeds are not booked out yet
April
Week 4

day by day
Seminyak base, one full day in Canggu. April traffic is still reasonable, so the Tanah Lot sunset run is worth planning for a specific evening.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, straight to the beach for sunset.
Day 2: Full beach club day, from opening until after dark.
Day 3: Canggu. Berawa beach, the cafes, back before the afternoon traffic.
Day 4: Spa, then the restaurant you would need to book weeks ahead in July.
Day 5: Tanah Lot at sunset. April is reliable enough to plan this for a specific evening.
Day 6: Day trip to Uluwatu, or a cooking class if you would rather not drive.
Day 7: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.

Good weather, before the good weather gets expensive
Start with the room, because April is the last month before Seminyak's rates climb towards high season and the same hotel will cost noticeably more in June. Beach clubs are still easy to arrange in April, though weekends are worth a call ahead. A car matters here for the Tanah Lot sunset run and the Canggu day, and April is dry enough that both are worth planning for specific evenings rather than leaving to chance. Three links below.
frequently asked questions
What is the weather like in Seminyak in April?
Warm and mostly dry. April is the shoulder into the dry season, so rain becomes brief and occasional rather than daily, and humidity drops noticeably from March. Days run around 27 to 31 degrees. Most importantly for this coast, sunsets become consistent enough to plan an evening around.
Do you need to book Bali beach clubs in advance?
In April, usually not, though a call ahead at weekends is sensible. From June through August, yes, particularly for the larger Seminyak and Canggu clubs and especially for a daybed rather than a seat. Minimum spends apply year-round at most of them, so check the amount before you commit.
Is a week too long in Seminyak?
For many people, yes. Seminyak is a compact area and the beach club, dinner and spa rhythm can feel repetitive after four or five days. A common fix is to spend four nights here and the rest inland in Ubud or south at Uluwatu, using Seminyak as the start or end of the trip rather than the whole of it.
