good to know before you plan
February is the month Seminyak stops being a queue. Restaurants that need booking weeks ahead in August will seat you tonight, the beach clubs have beds free at midday, and the road up to Canggu actually moves.
Over a full week that changes the trip completely, because you can decide things on the morning rather than in advance. It is the lowest point of Seminyak's yearly pricing at around $110 to $220 per person. The sky is the trade, this being the wettest month of the year. We think a February week here is the most relaxed version of Seminyak there is.
Bali in February: A 7-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary
February is the month Seminyak stops being a queue. Restaurants that need booking weeks ahead in August will seat you tonight. The beach clubs have beds free at midday. The road up to Canggu, which in high season can take an hour to cover a few kilometres, actually moves.
It is also the wettest month of the year, and Seminyak's entire evening ritual depends on a clear western sky. You will not get many. Come knowing that, and February is the most comfortable this area ever gets: the same food, the same beach clubs, the same spas, at the lowest prices and with room to enjoy them.
Empty daybeds, open tables and rain you can watch from under cover
February
Week 4

day by day
Base in Seminyak, day trip to Canggu at most once. February traffic is better than high season, but the rain still makes that road unpredictable.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, walk to the beach and see what the sky is doing.
Day 2: Full day at a beach club. Take the bed at opening, stay past dark.
Day 3: Canggu day. Berawa beach, the cafes, home before the afternoon rain.
Day 4: Spa in the afternoon, then the restaurant you would never get into in August.
Day 5: Tanah Lot at sunset, cloud or not. The temple in rain has its own case.
Day 6: Cooking class if the forecast is bad, second beach club if it is not.
Day 7: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.

The month Seminyak has room for you
Start with the room, because February is the lowest point of Seminyak's yearly pricing and the gap between a decent room and a very good one closes right now. Activities need less notice this month, but cooking classes run on small numbers and the better beach clubs still hold minimum spends, so check before the day. A car is worth it for the Tanah Lot run and the Canggu day, both unpleasant by scooter in the rain. Three links below.
frequently asked questions
What is the weather like in Seminyak in February?
Wet and humid, at 27 to 31 degrees. February is Bali's wettest month and the rain can last longer than the quick downpours of the dry season. Clear sunsets are uncommon, which matters on this coast because the west-facing beach is the area's main evening draw. Mornings are the most reliable part of the day.
Are Seminyak restaurants and beach clubs busy in February?
No, and it is the main reason to come now. February is Bali's quietest month, so restaurants that require booking weeks ahead in high season will take walk-ins, and beach clubs have daybeds free on the day. Minimum spends still apply at the larger clubs, but availability is not the problem it is in August.
What is there to do in Seminyak when it rains?
More than you would expect. The beach clubs are built with covered daybeds and indoor bars and stay open through the wet season. Seminyak also has the densest concentration of spas and cooking classes in south Bali, both entirely indoors. The rain here tends to arrive in the afternoon and clear by evening.
