The thing nobody tells you about Bali's beach clubs is that they are built for weather. Covered daybeds, indoor bars, pools you are already wet in. January rain does not close them.
What it does is empty them, which over a week means the front-row bed you would queue for in August is simply there. Rates are the lowest of the year outside the New Year fortnight, around $110 to $220 per person for seven days. The evenings are the loss: Seminyak's whole economy runs on a clear western horizon and January rarely supplies one. We come in January for the value, and never for the sunset.
Bali in January: A 7-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary

January rain does not close them, it empties them, and an empty beach club on the Seminyak strip is a genuinely different experience from the shoulder-to-shoulder version you have seen online.
Everything else about this stretch improves too. Restaurants that need booking three weeks out in August will take you tonight. The Canggu cafes have tables. Traffic on the Seminyak to Berawa road, which is the single worst thing about this area in high season, actually moves. You are trading reliable sunsets for space, quiet and roughly half the price.

Stay in Seminyak and treat Canggu as a day trip rather than a second base. In the wet season that twenty-minute drive north can double, so you want the option to skip it.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, walk to the beach for whatever the sky is doing.
Day 2: Beach club day. Take the bed in the morning, stay until dark, and let the rain happen around you.
Day 3: Canggu. Berawa beach, the cafes, and back to Seminyak before the afternoon traffic builds.
Day 4: Empty day. Spa in the afternoon, then the best restaurant you can get into, which in January is most of them.
Day 5: Tanah Lot for sunset, accepting it may be cloud. The temple in the rain has its own case.
Day 6: Second beach club, or a cooking class if the forecast is grim. Both are good uses of a wet day.
Day 7: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.

January is the month you can walk into anywhere
Start with the room, since Seminyak's January rates are the lowest of the year and the difference between a standard room and a good one is small right now. Activities need less forward planning this month, but cooking classes and the better beach clubs still run on limited numbers, so check before the day.
