good to know before you plan
July in Seminyak is the version of Bali that fills the internet: clear skies every evening, sunset over the water on schedule, beach clubs at full tilt and restaurants doing their best trade of the year.
A week of it costs around $180 to $300 per person, the top of the yearly range, and a front-row daybed needs weeks of notice rather than days, with minimum spends on top. Nothing here is spontaneous in July. We would settle the whole week before flying, because the alternative is paying peak prices to be turned away.
Bali in July: A 7-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary
July in Seminyak is the version of Bali that fills the internet. Clear skies every evening, sunset over the water on schedule, beach clubs at full tilt and restaurants doing the best trade of their year. If you want the postcard, this is the month it is guaranteed.
Everything about it requires booking. Front-row daybeds go weeks in advance, the restaurants worth eating at are reserved days or weeks out, and the coast road between Seminyak and Canggu in the late afternoon is one of the worst stretches of traffic on the island. July rewards planning and punishes spontaneity more than any other month here.
The sky delivers every night, and so does the queue
July
Week 4

day by day
Seminyak only. In July we would not plan a Canggu day at all: the road eats the time and the beach at the other end is not better than the one you already have.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, straight down for sunset.
Day 2: Full beach club day, booked weeks ago. Front row goes to whoever reserved.
Day 3: Spa in the morning, then your best dinner. Reserve this before you fly.
Day 4: Uluwatu day trip. Leave before seven and make a full day of the peninsula.
Day 5: Tanah Lot at sunset, leaving very early for the road west.
Day 6: Hotel pool, second beach club, or a cooking class. A deliberately low-effort day.
Day 7: Slow morning, late checkout, airport with generous margin.

In July, the booking is the trip
Book the room first and book it months out, because Seminyak sells out at peak rates and late availability is poor. Beach clubs and the better restaurants need advance reservations rather than same-day calls, particularly at weekends. A car is worth it for Uluwatu and Tanah Lot, but both need an early start in July, so arrange the driver in advance and give the road far more time than the map suggests. Three links below.
frequently asked questions
What is the weather like in Seminyak in July?
Peak dry season. Clear skies, low humidity and temperatures around 27 to 31 degrees, with rain rare enough that you can plan every evening around the sunset. It is also the windiest part of the year on this coast, which keeps the heat comfortable and puts a chop on the sea.
How far in advance should you book a Bali beach club in July?
Weeks rather than days for a front-row daybed at the larger Seminyak and Canggu clubs, and earlier for weekends. Minimum spends apply and are higher in peak season. Turning up on the day in July generally means a seat at the back or no seat at all, particularly at the clubs that appear on every list.
Is Seminyak worth it in peak season?
If you book properly, yes. The weather is dependable, the sunsets are reliable and the restaurants are at their best. If you improvise, July is the month Seminyak is least enjoyable, because everything worth doing is at capacity. The other consideration is length: many people find four days here better than seven at peak rates.
