good to know before you plan
In March you can still get a good daybed on the day, and minimum spends have not yet climbed. From around May that stops being true, and from June it is weeks of notice for a front-row bed.
This is the last month of low-season pricing in Seminyak, around $80 to $160 per person for five days, with the rains easing as the month goes on. Nyepi closes the entire island for a full day somewhere in March, so that date needs finding before anything is booked. We would take late March over early May, because the weather is close and the prices are not.
Bali in March: A 5-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary
Five days is the sweet spot for one region of Bali, and this plan spends all of it on Seminyak and Canggu. March sees the rains easing, and Nyepi closes the whole island for one full day somewhere in the month.
You base yourself in Seminyak and keep it simple: a full beach club day, a morning up to Canggu, a spa afternoon, and the restaurants this strip is known for. The sunsets do the rest, when the season gives them to you.
Five days in Seminyak in the last month of low-season pricing
March
Week 4

day by day
One base in Seminyak for the five days, with at most a single morning up to Canggu. Short trips here are better spent settling in than shuttling around.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, beach for sunset.
Day 2: Full beach club day.
Day 3: Canggu. Berawa beach and the cafes, back before the afternoon.
Day 4: Tanah Lot at sunset, then your best dinner of the trip.
Day 5: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.
If Nyepi falls during your stay, the day before belongs to the Ogoh-Ogoh parades and the day itself is spent inside your accommodation. Shift everything above by one day.

March is the last month of low-season pricing
Book the room now rather than later, because March is the final month before Seminyak's rates start their climb towards high season. Check where Nyepi falls first, since everything closes for that day. Beach clubs can still be arranged on the day this month, though the better ones are worth a call ahead at weekends. A car is worth it for Tanah Lot and the Canggu day, both of which are unpleasant on a scooter if a shower catches you. Three links below.
frequently asked questions
What is the weather like in Seminyak in March?
Improving through the month. Rain eases from the January and February peak and clear spells lengthen, though the first half of March can still be genuinely wet. Temperatures stay around 27 to 31 degrees. Sunsets become reliable enough to plan around from roughly the middle of the month.
When do Bali's beach clubs get busy?
From around May, and seriously from June through August. In March you can usually secure a good daybed on the day, and minimum spends are easier to meet because the clubs are not at capacity. By July the same bed needs booking well ahead, especially at weekends.
How does Nyepi affect Seminyak?
Completely. Beach clubs, restaurants, bars and shops all close for the full twenty-four hours, and you cannot leave your hotel. Seminyak observes it as strictly as the rest of the island. If your dates include Nyepi, make sure you are checked in the day before and ask your hotel what it provides on the day itself.
