Full Description

Tanah Lot sits on a rocky outcrop just offshore, cut off from the mainland at high tide and reachable on foot when the water drops. It is one of Bali's most significant sea temples and easily its most photographed, with the silhouette against the sunset drawing large crowds each evening.

Early morning is the calmer alternative, the light is softer and the site is far quieter than at sunset. The surrounding clifftop paths offer views back toward the temple and along the Tabanan coastline, with cafes and stalls lining the approach.
