overview

The Laguna is a Luxury Collection resort on the white sand at Nusa Dua, built around seven large lagoon swimming pools winding through landscaped tropical gardens, several room categories open directly onto the water. Rooms and villas are finished in wood, and around-the-clock on-call butler service comes as standard.

Dining spans all-day meals at Banyubiru to fresh seafood at the beachfront Arwana, with drinks at the poolside Kulkul Beach House and Sapphire Lagoon Bar. Two small islands, Nusa Bagus and Nusa Peninsula, are reachable directly from the beach, and the concierge arranges kite flying, sand sculpture, and watersports.

our review

Seven lagoon pools wind through the gardens, and several room categories open straight onto the water, so you can step out of bed and into a pool. That is the design idea, and it is worth paying for if it appeals.

Rooms and villas are finished in wood, with 24-hour on-call butler service as standard. Banyubiru handles all-day dining and Arwana does fresh seafood on the beach. A 9.4 across more than 1,200 guests is excellent for a resort this size. Nusa Dua is a gated enclave, so this is polished and calm rather than local. We would book a swim-out category or not bother with this one at all.
