good to know before you plan
October sits on the turn. Early in the month it behaves like September, and by the end the first afternoon rains are back and the beach clubs start emptying out again.
That makes it good value at around $100 to $180 per person for five days, near the post-season low, with daybeds becoming available on the day as the month goes on. The evenings are still mostly clear early. We would book the first fortnight for the weather or the second for the prices, and choosing between those two is the whole decision.
Bali in October: A 5-Day Seminyak and Canggu Itinerary
Five days is the sweet spot for one region of Bali, and this plan spends all of it on Seminyak and Canggu. October is mostly dry early in the month, with the first afternoon rains returning towards the end.
You base yourself in Seminyak and keep it simple: a full beach club day, a morning up to Canggu, a spa afternoon, and the restaurants this strip is known for. The sunsets do the rest, when the season gives them to you.
Five days in Seminyak, cheap and quiet before the rains return
October
Week 4

day by day
One base in Seminyak for the five days, with at most a single morning up to Canggu. Short trips here are better spent settling in than shuttling around.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, straight down for sunset.
Day 2: Full beach club day, booked on the morning.
Day 3: Canggu. The road is quick this month, so give Berawa a proper morning.
Day 4: Tanah Lot at sunset, then a dinner you booked yesterday.
Day 5: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.

Sunsets at close to the yearly low price
Compare hotel prices now, because October rates sit near the bottom of Seminyak's range while the weather is still mostly holding, and that combination does not last past the month. Beach clubs take same-day bookings again, though weekends are still worth a call. A car is worth it for Tanah Lot and the Canggu day, both quick and easy this month in a way they simply are not in July. Three links below.
frequently asked questions
What is the weather like in Seminyak in October?
Mostly dry early in the month, turning changeable late. The first two to three weeks usually hold clear evenings and dependable sunsets at around 27 to 31 degrees, then afternoon cloud and short showers begin returning. Humidity rises through the month as the wet season approaches.
When is the cheapest time to go to a Bali beach club?
The wet season, from November through March, when daybeds are available on the day and minimum spends are often lower. October is the best compromise: prices have fallen a long way from the August peak while the sunsets are still dependable for most of the month. July and August are the most expensive by a wide margin.
Is Canggu worth visiting in October?
More than in high season, because the road between Seminyak and Canggu is genuinely quick again once the crowds have gone. In July that drive can take an hour or more each way. In October it is usually a straightforward twenty to thirty minutes, which changes the calculation on whether a day trip is worth it.
