September is when I would spend money on Seminyak. The identical week costs meaningfully less than August and feels considerably better, because you are not competing for a table or a daybed.
My usual reservation about length still applies. Seminyak is a four-day area, and even in a good month seven nights on the same strip gets repetitive. The difference in September is that you can now afford to split the trip: four nights here and three at Uluwatu or on the Nusa islands for what a week here would have cost in August.

September gives Seminyak everything August had except the pressure. The sunsets are still dependable, the beach clubs are still running properly, and the restaurants are still doing what they do. What has gone is the need to book everything weeks ahead, and the traffic that made the coast road unusable in the late afternoon.
Prices come down through the month as the school holidays finish, which means the room that was at its annual peak in mid August can be a third cheaper by late September for identical weather. If your dates are flexible, this is the single best moment to do the beach club version of Bali.

Seminyak base, and Canggu is worth a day again now that the road has cleared. Go in the morning either way.
Day 1: Arrive, check in, straight down for sunset.
Day 2: Full beach club day. In September you can take the bed on the day again.
Day 3: Canggu. The road is quick again, so make a proper morning of Berawa and the cafes.
Day 4: Spa, then the restaurant that needed three weeks of notice in August.
Day 5: Tanah Lot at sunset, an easy drive this month.
Day 6: Uluwatu day trip, or a cooking class.
Day 7: Slow morning, late checkout, airport.

The August experience at a September price
Compare hotel prices, because September rates fall week by week and the second half of the month is well below the August peak for identical weather. Beach clubs are bookable much closer to the day now, though weekends and front-row beds are still worth a call ahead.
