Full Description

Legian Beach runs north from Kuta along the same long sand-bottomed stretch, which is what makes this coast the island's standard learn-to-surf zone: no reef, forgiving whitewater, and waves that reform close to shore. Instructors and board rental operate directly off the beach, and lessons typically run two hours including a briefing on the sand.

Legian is usually less crowded in the water than Kuta a little further south, which for a first lesson is worth more than it sounds.
