BSTS is a conservation organisation that relocates turtle nests laid on Kuta Beach to a protected hatchery, then releases the hatchlings publicly once they emerge. Releases happen in the late afternoon during nesting season, and participation is free, a donation is invited but not required.
It is the most worthwhile hour in Kuta, and the one thing here that has nothing to do with shopping or nightlife. Numbers are limited by how many hatchlings emerge that day, so it is first come, first served.
