Full Description
For travellers who want the Mount Batur sunrise without the pre-dawn climb, this tour covers the same volcanic scenery by 4WD jeep instead. The vehicle reaches a viewpoint in around 30-45 minutes, well short of the hours needed on foot.
From there, the route can take in the black lava fields left by past eruptions, including the major 1963 event, an area recognised as part of a UNESCO Global Geopark. Depending on the option booked, the day can extend to a stop at Ulun Danu Batur Temple on the lake shore, or further out to Ubud for optional white-water rafting on the Ayung River, an ATV ride, or a stop at Tegalalang's rice terraces.
Because so much of the itinerary depends on which add-ons are selected, actual timing and stops vary considerably between bookings.
